Winter is coming. Winter is coming. That’s what you’re thinking around the holidays. The cold, harsh reality that during the holidays you are single. Some of those holidays can be masked through family traditions such as big dinners, sport games or sharing memories. However, Valentine’s Day or Sweetest Day has a different ring to it. It is often during those holidays that you truly feel the burden of your singleness. You don’t have anyone asking “ Where Is Your Boyfriend or Are you Dating Yet” because everyone always knows the deal.
In 2020, as we approach Valentine’s Day, I want to help encourage you that you are not forgotten. Your love story is still being written and YOU ARE worth waiting for. I need you to continue to speak it until you believe you. Others may have found their “person” and share their beautiful engagement or date night photos, but they don’t always share their hardship. Rarely do people show their struggles or their own feelings of insecurity or lack of self-worth. Rarely is their evidence of their tear stained pillows or their notes to God praying for their desires.
In 2020 and beyond, understand that God has heard your plea. He placed the desire to love and be loved within you and I 100% believe that he will bring your desires to fruition. The man of your dreams is working on His soul and heart so that He can cover you the way you need to be covered. God is positioning each of you for one another. Now, I understand the feeling of longing. It is extremely hard to acknowledge that God’s timing is not our own. We know and understand that His Timing is perfect but our flesh is screaming for the presence of NOW. Learning how to truly trust in God’s timing is hard, yet necessary. In my own transparency, I can admit that it is still something I struggle with too. As a Wedding Planner and hopeless romantic, I too love Love. I understand the feeling of empty hope and the questioning of am I good enough? Dear Sister, you are more than good enough. You are God’s Daughter. Everything that he creates he is proud of. You are His best creation. God’s love was with you even before you were created. That is powerful. Walk daily in that reminder.
Jeremiah 31:3 says Long ago the LORD said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.
It’s OK to feel down or sad. Those are honest and natural emotions but do not stay there. Do not dwell in that space. Do not make decisions in an emotional state. Press In to the love of God. If you don’t know how, let that be your prayer. God will equip you and you will be encouraged.
My Sister, You are more than the red signature of holiday and more than the blues that life brings. You are a masterpiece. Preciously Designed- Beautifully Preserved.
When you find yourself sinking or feeling low, be reminded that God’s good is better than your best.
